For starters: Rays at Phillies, with Archer and Kiermaier

UPDATE, 1:56: RHP Jose De Leon had his Tommy John surgery done this morning by Dr. James Andrews and it went well, Cash said.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are back in the Clearwater today to take on the Phillies for the second time in four days, with Chris Archer on the mound.

There are a number of familiar faces in the lineup for the Rays today, with a top four of Denard Span, Kevin Kiermaier, Matt Duffy and C.J. Cron.

Also of note, the Rays are taking a look at two of the candidates for the final reserve outfield spot, in Jason Coats and Brandon Snyder.

Archer is making his fourth appearance of the spring as he lines up for his expected opening  day start.

The Phillies held  a media session this morning to introduce newly signed RHP Jake Arrieta, who said he expects to be ready to pitch the opening week of the season and offered plenty of inspirational comments about the chances to win soon  in Philadelphia.
