McKay a Hot Rod, Stone Crabs stacked, more on Rays minor-league rosters

The Rays released the planned opening-day rosters for their full-season minor-league teams on Monday. Here are some highlights:

• LHP/1B Brendan McKay — the two-way prospect who was their top  2017 draft pick — is headed to Class A Bowling Green.

• A group of their top prospects will stay in Port Charlotte to play for the advanced Class A Stone Crabs, including OF Jesus Sanchez, INF Lucius Fox, OF Josh Lowe.

• The advanced group of prospects that are expected to reach the majors later this season will open at Triple-A Durham, including INFs Willy Adames, Christian Arroyo and Jake Bauers, plus OFs Justin Williams  and Joe McCarthy.  Also with the Bulls are several pitchers likely to be called up at some point, including Anthony Banda, Chih-Wei Hu, Jaime Schultz, Ryne Stanek and possibly veteran Jonny Venters.
