Kevin Cash faces a tall challenge in keeping the team headed the right way after eight straight losses, saying it's on him and the staff to "keep the positivity." Better though, he said: "We've got to somehow figure out a way to win a ballgame and eliminate that."

If there was ever a time for RHP Chris Archer to step up and deliver the kind of performance worthy of the ace label he so covets, it's Monday — albeit in brutally cold conditions in Chicago. But this Rays team desperately needs a deep and dominant start.

Amid all the bad, second-year INF Daniel Robertson is off to a very good start. Known for his exceptional defense and increased versatility (adding pitching and first base to his list), he also has been impressive at the plate in working at-bats.
