Left-hander Anthony Banda, the promising prospect acquired from Arizona in the Steven Souza Jr. trade, has been called up, the Times has learned.

It was not immediately clear if he would be added to the roster Friday (and thus someone sent down to make room) or if he is being added as the 26th man for Saturday's doubleheader.

Banda is 4-2, 3.50 in seven starts at Triple-A Durham, with 44 strikeouts and 16 walks in 36 innings. He was 2-3, 5.96 in eight games last year for Arizona.
