UPDATE, 12:18: Cash said they are  only looking for 2 innings or so today out of Andriese, and expect Kittredge and Weber to both pitch today. … Smith and Cash both confirmed Tuesday was not the first time missed signs were an issue. Smith said he didn't expect to get pulled out of game for missing what was a no-steal sign: "He's the manager, it's his call." Asked if it was a one-day thing or needed to be talked through, Smith said: "We'll see." Cash sounded like it was already behind him, but he expects Smith to do better. … Cash talked to Archer today, said all went well in rehab start, could rejoin rotation as soon as Monday against the Tigers though on a limited pitch count.

DEVELOPING: The Rays will be back at it this afternoon, a little more than 12 hours after the end of Tuesday's 9-6 16-inning marathon win over the Marlins.

As expected, they added two fresh arms to their bullpen, bringing up RHP Andrew Kittredge and RHP Ryan Weber. To make room, they placed LHP Vidal Nuno, one of the Tuesday stars, on the DL with a right hamstring strain and demoted RHP Austin Pruitt.

Both Kittredge and Weber were with the Rays earlier this season and were at Triple-A Durham. To make room on the 40-man roster for Weber, the St. Petersburg product, RHP Wilmer Font wasa transferred to the 60-day DL.

Also as expected, the Rays lineup has a bit of an unusual look, with three of the veterans who played the full game on the bench – 3B  Matt Duffy, SS Adeiny Hechavarria, C Wilson Ramos – and rookie Jake Bauers making his first start in leftfield.

RHP Matt Andriese, one of the three pitchers who didn't play Tuesday, will start for the Rays on what already was planned as a bullpen day.
