UPDATE, 3:56: INF Willy Adames was not feeling well, so the Rays scratched him from the lineup.  Robertson will move from left to second, and Johnny Field will start in left.

DEVELOPING: Having lost on a walkoff grand slam Friday night and three of four overall to the NL-worst Marlins and Mets, the Rays today have the confidence of having LHP Blake Snell on the mound.

Snell has emerged as their top starter, and one of the best in the American League, expected to be named Sunday to the All-Star team for the first time.

But first, he'd like to beat the Mets.

Snell is 11-4, 2.24, having won last three decisions and seven of eight overall. He has yielded two runs or fewer in 15 starts, tied with Washington's Max Scherzer for most in the majors.

The Mets are starting LHP Steven Matz, who has been pitching better of late, 3-3, 2.92 over his  last 11 starts.
