Greetings from Tropicana Field, where I'm filling in on Rays duty tonight as they open a three-game series against Detroit, coming off back-to-back shutouts against the Mets over the weekend.

Chris Archer is back on the mound for the first time since June 2, coming off the disabled list after missing more than a month with an abdominal strain. RHP Andrew Kittredge was optioned to Triple-A Durham to make room for Archer.

Christian Arroyo, sidelined since June 17 with an oblique injury, is starting his own rehab stint tonight with Class-A Charlotte. Anticipating a surplus of middle infielders, the Rays have Daniel Robertson starting in left field tonight, just his third start there this season.

Facing a lefty in Francisco Liriano, the Rays tweaked their batting order a bit — Robertson is batting third for only the sixth time this year, C.J. Cron is batting fifth for just the fourth time and Jake Bauers is batting sixth for just the fourth time as well.
