UPDATE, 6:25: The lat strain sustained by RHP Wilmer Font in June has proved to be serious, Cash saying today: "In all likelihood it will be really challenging to see him at any point the rest of this year."

UPDATE, 6:07: Cash said they are expecting 3-4 innings from Faria tonight, the key being his pitch efficiency. … Cash said Pham (foot) will be re-evaluated after his game for Hudson Valley tonight and could rejoin the Rays in the morning.

DEVELOPING: The Rays will try again tonight to end their struggles at Yankee Stadium and will have RHP Jake Faria on the mound.

With Tuesday's 4-1 defeat, the Rays have now lost 14 of their 17 games at Yankee Stadium since the start of last season, and 29 of 38 since Sept. 10, 2014.

They also have lost their last 12 series their, the longest such streak by any team ever in the building, and 12 straight series openers.

Faria makes his third appearance since returning from the DL Aug. 1, but his first start since May 22, having sidelined with a strained oblique.

The Yankees are starting RHP Luis Cessa, who is being called up from Triple-A again.
