Marc Topkin’s takeaways from Tuesday’s Rays-Indians game

RHP Tyler Glasnow seemed confident that his brutally bad last outing, when he didn't survive the first in Toronto, was just one of those nights that happen sometimes. And he certainly proved that to be true with a solid seven innings on Tuesday.

Manager Kevin Cash didn't really get to put on much of a show, but he did enough to get ejected in contesting a balk call in the eighth inning, his first tossing of the season. Cash knew he wasn't supposed to argue that call but sometimes it is worth it to make a point.

The Rays talked about having a presence in their lineup in acquiring OF Tommy Pham, and a little bit when discussing DH Ji-Man Choi. But as they plan for next season, with money to spend, they can see what real presence is like with Edwin Encarnacion in the Indians order.
