UPDATE, 2:03: No surgeries are planned for OF Tommy Pham, Rays officials said, that will let his groin and finger issues heal. .. Cash said he hopes the players watch the postseason games and are mad they aren't participating and that it carries over.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are playing for the chance to make it a 90-win season in today's finale against Toronto, first pitch 3:10.

RHP Ryne Stanek will serve as the opener, with LHPs Ryan Yarbrough and Jalen Beeks both expected to pitch.

Among other goals, INF Joey Wendle has a chance to finish with a .300 average, and C.J. Cron is aiming for his 31st homer. With a big day, such as 4-for-4, OF Mallex Smith also could get to .300.

The Rays are also confident about LHP Blake Snell's chances to win the AL Cy Young Award based on his 21-5, 1.89 ERA.

Manager Kevin Cash has had good reason to be pleased with his team, that many experts projected to make a run at 100 losses.
