When we spoke to Pete Wentz recently, he was excited by the fact that Jaden Smith was opening so many dates on Fall Out Boy's fall tour.
"People ask me what he does, like, 'What is Jaden Smith? What does he do?'" Wentz said. "He's, like, this guy who sews his own pants, but he can also sing, and he raps, and he's a really good actor, and he's just a creative guy. And he doesn't really need to be. He could coast through life. I really like that he does what he does, and I wanted to support it."
But if you were hoping to see Smith in Tampa, you're out of luck. The singer-actor-fashionplate has dropped off the bill for Sunday's Fall Out Boy concert in Tampa. He'll be replaced by nothing, nowhere., a fast-rising emo-rapper and Wentz signee who was the subject of a recent glowing New York Times profile. Another previously announced opener, Blackbear, will also perform.
No explanation was given for the switch Thursday night. Smith is still opening most of Fall Out Boy's other fall dates, though, so you can always fly out and see him somewhere else.
