Hanson bringing full symphonic tour to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg

Published July 23, 2018

If you thought the rock-symphony trend that has taken off in popularity in recent years (see: Foreigner, Dennis DeYoung, Little River Band, Indigo Girls) would be dying down anytime soon, Hanson has a few words for you.

Yes, THAT Hanson. MMMBop Hanson.

Hot on the heels of their 25th anniversary tour (!), the Oklahoma boy wonders turned craft beer connoisseurs have announced plans for a fall tour accompanied by a full symphony, and it includes a stop at St. Petersburg's Mahaffey Theater on Oct. 26.

The tour will accompany a new studio album, String Theory, featuring some of the band's best-known songs reworked to include new symphonic arrangements from Academy Award-winning composer David Campbell. (In a weird twist, Campbell is the father of a Hansen boy himself — a little alternative artist known as Beck Hansen, that is.)

Ticket prices have not yet been announced, but according to the band they'll go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
