Among those reeling from the news of Mac Miller's death from an apparent drug overdose on Friday: His friend and fellow rapper G-Eazy, who performed hours later at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.

"I swear, life is so f—ing fragile," he said during an emotionally charged performance of Everything Will Be OK, as a giant photo of Miller filled the screen behind him. "Appreciate the moment. Be present in it. Tell people you love you care about them."

The fact you came out performed 1000%, dedicated Everything Will Be Ok to @MacMiller, cried in front of us all, and continued to perform.... we fucking love you Gerald. Thank you for changing my life and many others. @G_Eazy pic.twitter.com/G4ke5Y31qt

On her Instagram, Halsey wrote her own tribute to Miller, "for being the soundtrack to my high school years" and "for giving me songs I knew every single word to and screamed at the top of my lungs in my first car the year I got my license." She also thanked him "from the bottom of my heart for being such a good friend to Gerald (G-Eazy)."

Miller performed several times in Tampa Bay over the years, including gigs at the State Theatre, Jannus Live and the Ritz Ybor. He was scheduled to headline Orlando's CFE Arena in November.

G-Eazy got through Friday's concert okay, but he still seemed shaken at the end of the night. After the show, he tweeted that he was cancelling a planned after-party.
