Walk the Moon have risen so far, so fast that it's hard to remember the last time they played a local club. It would've been at the State Theatre in 2015, right before Shut Up and Dance took over the world.
But after gigs at festivals and arenas around Tampa Bay, they're heading back to a more intimate stage.
The colorful, energetic group will perform at Jannus Live on Feb. 12, promoters announced Tuesday. Tickets are $27 and up, and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
Walk the Moon was last in Tampa Bay in June, opening for Thirty Seconds for Mars at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater. That's about par for the course for the band, which has also played the 93.3-FLZ Jingle Ball and 97X Next Big Thing in recent years. But they're an electric live band whose other singles (Anna Sun, Different Colors, One Foot) are nearly as fun live as Shut Up and Dance. A headlining show is overdue.
