East Lake Community Library’s Authors Showcase presents Don Bruns (No Second Chances) discussing and signing his thriller. Free. 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. 4125 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor. (727) 773-2655.

Applications are available for authors, vendors and volunteers for the 27th annual Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading, which will be Nov. 9 at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg; tampabay.com/expos/festival-of-reading/.
