Authorities are looking for driver involved in fatal Pasco hit-and-run

A pedestrian was killed in a Dade City hit-and-run Saturday night, and authorities are looking for the driver.

Leon Gilbert-Bailey, 24, of Dade City, was walking along the west shoulder of U.S. 301 near Gould Road, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

At around 9:45 p.m., an unknown driver headed southbound on the highway hit Gilbert-Bailey.

Authorities took Gilbert-Bailey to AdventHealth Dade City, where he died from his injuries, the release said.

The Florida Highway Patrol asked citizens to look out for a car with damage to its right front, including its headlight, hood, windshield and A-pillar.

Authorities collected shards of paint from the accident scene and provided photographs media outlets.
