A woman involved in a fatal crash Saturday in Clearwater has been charged with DUI manslaughter and two counts of child neglect.

According to a news release from the city of Clearwater, Kelley Nicole Zielinski, 29, of Safety Harbor, was driving a 2013 Hyundai sedan southbound on Ft. Harrison Avenue near Belleview Boulevard. At about 5 p.m., Zielinski made a left turn onto Belleview Boulevard.

The Hyundai crossed directly into the path of an oncoming Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by 56-year-old Jeffrey Pearl of Largo. Pearl was thrown from the motorcycle. He suffered fatal injuries, the release said.

Pearl was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital a few hours later.

Zielinski was arrested at the scene of the accident after she failed field sobriety tests, the release said. She's being charged with DUI manslaughter.

The Safety Harbor woman was traveling with two small children, a 2-year-old and 18-month-old, a Clearwater spokeswoman confirmed Sunday morning. No one in Zielinski's car was injured in the crash.

Zielinski was also charged with two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm, Pinellas County court records show. It was unclear as of Sunday morning whether the children were hers.
