Stephen Knorr, 62, of Hudson, was in a bad car accident in Pasco County on May 31 — over a week ago.

He died Saturday from injuries he sustained in that crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a release.

On the day of the crash, Knorr was a passenger in a 2016 Ford Focus headed eastbound on State Road 54. The driver, Donna Shotwell, 62, of Hudson, turned left onto Starkey Boulevard at about 7 p.m.

At the same time, Chad Erickson, 32, of New Port Richey, was traveling westbound on State Road 54. Erickson ran a red light at the Starkey Boulevard intersection, the release said. Erickson crashed his 2007 Audi into the passenger side of the car driven by Shotwell.

Authorities responded and took Knorr, the injured passenger, to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.

Both Shotwell and Erickson suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Alcohol was not a factor in the accident. Erickson was cited for running the red light, the release said.
