A 34-year-old man from Spring Hill was struck by at least one car while trying to cross U.S. 19 Saturday night.

He died from his injuries, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dustin Wolfingbarger was walking across U.S. 19 near Pacific Avenue in Hernando County when he was hit by "one, if not two vehicles, that were silver and white in color," the release said.

The initial impact or impacts left Wolfingbarger lying in the roadway. That's when he was hit by a car driven by Angel Luis Perez, 50, of Spring Hill. Wolfingbarger later died from his injuries at Oak Hill Hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about these accidents to call 813-558-1800, *FHP or Crime Stoppers at 866-990-TIPS (8477).

Charges in the incidents are pending, the release said.
