SPRING HILL — A Pagan Motorcycle Club member was found shot and killed outside his home Wednesday morning, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

James William Earl, 32, was found by his fiancé before 7 a.m. He was lying dead in his driveway on Glenrock Road in Spring Hill, deputies said.

Investigators said it was unclear if Earl's killing was connected to his affiliation with the Pagans.

The shooting comes more than a year after the president of a local chapter of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club was gunned down in broad daylight as he waited at a red light in a pickup truck in December 2017. That shooting was in apparent retribution for an incident at a Palm Harbor bike night, when a group of Outlaws beat and stole the vests from a pair of 69'ers Motorcycle Club members.

After Anderson's killing, Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said he feared of an impending war between biker gangs.
