Pinellas County law enforcement agencies cite 20 drivers for DUI in overnight operation

Pinellas County law enforcement agencies teamed up Saturday night an effort to combat driving under the influence.

According to a news release by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the agencies involved in the overnight "DUI Wolf Pack" operation cited 20 people suspected of DUI. The agencies wrote 136 citations in total.

In addition to the alleged DUIs, the agencies reported five other suspected charges -- including two alleged felonies.

The operation lasted from 7 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday. Participating law enforcement agencies included the Sheriff's Office; the Tarpon Springs Police Department; Clearwater Police Department; Largo Police Department; Pinellas Park Police Department; St. Petersburg Police Department; Florida Highway Patrol and Gulfport Police Department.
