NEW PORT RICHEY — A 94-year-old man died Thursday after his mobility scooter was struck by a car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at about 1:47 p.m. at the intersection of Little Road and Fox Hollow Drive.

Nicholas Sacripante, of Port Richey, was riding his mobility scooter west across Little Road, according to the Highway Patrol.

Headed south on Little Road was a 2014 Hyundai Elantra driven by 21-year-old Ashtyn Wilson of Port Richey.

The Elantra was in the inside southbound lane when the mobility scooter entered into its path, and was hit by the car. Sacripante was fatally injured and died at the scene. Wilson was not injured.

Troopers did not say who was at fault. Charges may be pending in this case, however.
