Brenden Morrow expected to be ready for Lightning opener

TAMPA - The Lightning expects LW Brenden Morrow (back spasms) to be ready to play Thursday night in the team's regular-season opener against the Panthers.

Morrow missed the final three preseason games because of his back but has skated the last few days and practiced Wednesday.

"I hope he's available," Cooper said of the former Stars captain, who signed with the Lightning in July. "He's a veteran presence. Those are guys we want to have in our lineup."
