PNC Bank's Florida division received the highest-possible rating from the Department of Treasury this week for its ability to meet community credit needs. It has received an "outstanding" during every rating period since 1997, the bank said in a release.

Within the designation, the bank was rated "outstanding" for its lending, "high satisfactory" for investment and "high satisfactory" for service.

"This rating favorably distinguishes PNC within the financial services industry," the bank said in a release. "Only a small percentage of large banks achieve an 'outstanding' (rating)."
