Florida's reputation as a retiree state precedes it, but the city of Tampa may be an even more attractive spot for a particular slice of the retiree community: those who like to travel. A report by Smart Advisor Financial ranked Tampa No. 8 for retirees who have the travel bug.
The city was bolstered by its low taxes, affordability and low property crime rate, as well as the low cost of many domestic flights. But its comparatively lower number of international and domestic flights kept it from ranking even higher.
Las Vegas ranked No. 1 in the study, followed by Phoenix, Arizona, and Dallas. Salt Lake City and Fort Lauderdale tied for the No. 9 spot
