Tampa Bay condo and townhome prices rose in March

Tampa Bay condos remain a relative bargain compared to those in other major metro areas.

Sales of condos and townhomes in the Tampa Bay area inched up 1 percent in March while prices climbed 4.4 percent. According to Florida Realtors, the median price of a bay area condo or townhome rose to $234,900, lower than in the Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville areas and $21,100 less than the statewide median.

Statewide, condo and townhome sales dropped 1.2 percent while prices rose 2 percent. The Naples area had the highest median price — $429,000.
