Prices for condos and townhomes in the Tampa Bay area soared in January. According to Florida Realtors, the median price shot up almost 14 percent — to $170,000 — compared to an increase of just 3.8 percent for single-family homes. The number of sales of existing homes — condos, townhomes and single family — dropped more than 4 percent in January as the market continued to slow.
