Tampa Bay added the sixth-most solar jobs of any metro area in the country, according to new data released by the Solar Foundation this week. It added 1,646 jobs in 2018, up nearly 26 percent from 2017.
"States and cities are today's leaders in the movement for 100 percent clean energy, building the solar workforce that will help America stand up to the challenge of climate change," Andrea Luecke, president of the Solar Foundation, said in a release.
No. 1 was the Toledo, Ohio area with 2,417 jobs, followed by Chicago (4,275 jobs) and Miami (4,482 jobs).
