TAMPA — Despite rising prices, Tampa is still one of the best U.S. cities in which to flip a house. That's according to the personal finance website WalletHub, which compared 172 cities in terms of purchase price, gross return on investment, renovation costs and other criteria. Tampa came in sixth, the only Florida city to make the top 10. Farther down on the list are Orlando (29), Tallahassee (41), Jacksonville (50), St. Petersburg (70th), Fort Lauderdale (80th) and Miami (99th).
Tampa is by far the largest city in the top 10, which is led by Sioux Falls, S.D. The worst places for flipping are Bridgeport, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y.
