When it comes to major wireless carriers' performance in Tampa Bay, Verizon and T-Mobile are neck and neck. In a new report by OpenSignal, a wireless coverage mapping company, the two ranked evenly across the report's five categories in Tampa Bay, but T-Mobile came out on top nationally.
"Verizon and T-Mobile's relentless battle in our speed and availability metrics is far from over, and for this report we've crowned a new king of speed: T-Mobile," the report said.
In Tampa Bay, Verizon ranked best for 4G availability and video experience, while T-Mobile ranked best for download speeds. The two tied for upload speed and tied again for service lag time along with AT&T.
