Shhhh!!! It's Library Day at the Capitol. But today's agenda also includes more trauma center discussion, beer tastings, guns and more. Here's what to watch:
- Trauma centers, and the activation fees they charge seriously injured patients, are up for discussion at the Senate's Health Policy Committee, which will consider SB 1276.
- The Senate Education Committee takes up a hot-button charter school bill that would require local school districts and charter school operators to use a standardized contract, SB 1528.
- A proposal to allow Floridians complying with a mandatory evacuation to carry concealed weapons, SB 296, is up for consideration in the Senate's Military and Veterans Affairs, Space, and Domestic Security Committee.
- Claims bills have been a non-starter in the Senate because President Don Gaetz believes the process is too arbitrary. That didn't stop the House's Civil Justice Subcommittee from putting three on the agenda: HB 3519, HB 3529 and HB 3531.
- The Senate's Community Affairs Committee will consider a proposal that will allow retailers to hold in-store beer tastings, SB 470.
