CLEARWATER — Salvador Dali's surrealist art has come to downtown.

The Dreams of Dali virtual reality installation will be housed in the city's Second Century Studios through June 30, giving visitors a free and immersive glimpse into the iconic Spanish painter's work.

In the exhibit, visitors can explore Dali's painting Archaeological Reminiscence of Millet's "Angelus" by wearing Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets to have the sensation of exploring the land and architecture.

The six-month installation is a partnership between the city's Community Redevelopment Agency and the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. The virtual reality exhibit debuted at the Dali Museum in 2016. The installment at Second Century Studios is currently the only Dreams of Dali virtual reality experience outside of The Dali Museum, according to a news release.

Downtown Clearwater-based cyber security firm KnowBe4 donated four virtual reality headsets and laptops worth $10,541 for the exhibit, according to CRA public relations and programs manager Rosemary D'Amour.

The installation is free and open to the public through June 30 at Second Century Studios, 331 Cleveland St., Wednesdays and Thursdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays noon to 9 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
