Florida reserve forward Walter Pitchford will miss at least about two weeks with a sprained right wrist he suffered in a motor scooter accident Sunday, according to Florida athletic officials.
The accident occurred a block off the UF campus, where Pitchford tried to break on the bike and prevent hitting a vehicle in front of him, according to Gatozone.com. Pitchford rolled the scooter sideways to the ground, injuring his wrist and scraped his arm badly hitting the pavement.
"He needs the work for himself, just to be at practice," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "He needs to be out there in terms of growth and understanding, rehearsing and developing habits. But he'll be out a while."
Pitchford has played just 15 minutes in eight games and scored four points.
