A Jan. 22-24 Suffolk University poll finds Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson leading Republican candidate Connie Mack by 10 percentage points, 42 percent to 32 percent. Still, only 36 percent of those surveyed have a favorable opinion and 28 percent have an unfavorable opinion.
Mack comes closest to Nelson than the other GOP contenders who have far less name recognition. Adam Hasner trails 47-23; George LeMieux 46-22; and Mike McAlister 46-25.
Forty Seven percent said Florida is on the wrong track and 31 percent said it is heading in the right direction. Thirty percent have a favorable view of Gov. Rick Scott and 48 percent have an unfavorable view. Thirty five percent approve of the job Rick Scott is doing, and 45 percent disapprove.
