Twin senior guards Andrell and Andrea Smith sparked USF to a 75-73 overtime win at Clemson, with Andrell scoring 26 -- including six 3-pointers in the first half -- and Andrea getting five of her 15 in the extra period.
The Bulls (2-0) picked up a key road win, rallying from a three-point deficit in the final 90 seconds of regulation. Andrea Smith hit a 3-pointer in overtime, then a shot with 1:13 left to put the Bulls ahead for good. Clemson (0-2) went 6-22 last season and lost to Presbyterian in its opener, so a loss would have been costly for USF.
Inga Orekhova added 11 points and five assists for USF, which returns home to face Bradley next Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Sun Dome.
