Where there are gators, particularly nuisance ones, there must be gator trappers. And the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is hiring.
FWC is accepting applications for nuisance alligator trappers in Pinellas County. Spokesperson Melody Kilborn said the agency routinely contracts trappers, which total 103 statewide. Pinellas currently has three trappers and is looking for one more.

The requirements for becoming a trapper include having a truck, boat, snares and other equipment, being liable for the welfare of themselves and their trapping agents and having time to respond to removal permits. They also must have no criminal history and no fish or wildlife law violations.
