Everyone wants to get in on this weekend's Iron Man 3 gravy train, so GoBankingRates.com easily cubed their own web traffic by posting a story about Tony Stark's net worth. Don't worry, there's a part where they assign a value to all the metal suits.
The site says the character played by Robert Downey Jr. has a 2012 net worth of about $9.3 billion, withoutthe $20.3 billion in sales from Stark Industries, which still puts him behind Jed Clampett of The Beverly Hillbillies and Smaug the dragon from The Hobbit. Both of those rich characters have more than Stark on the Fictional 15, Forbes' tongue-in-cheek ranking of fake rich folks.
As far as assets go, Stark Tower is worth something like $600 million, his supercomputer JARVIS cost $10 million, the actual house the movie shot as Stark's Malbu home was just put on the market for $25 million and his various cars from the three movies -- including a Saleen S7, a Rolls Royce Phanton and a 2014 Bugatti Veyron Hyper Sport -- ring in at $3.4 million.
The suits, however, are a whole category unto themselves. The site quotes MoneySupermarket.com as saying the Mark 1 through Mark 7 suits from the first two movies are worth $1.46 billion, while the seven versions in the new movie (plus War Machine Mark 2) total $7 billion. What do you get for that money? They were nice enough to break it down:
Well, in that case, maybe Nick Cannon will get married in one next year.
