Events: 'City on Fire' author Hallberg to speak at Oxford Exchange

Bestselling novelist Garth Risk Hallberg (City on Fire) will discuss his experimental novella A Field Guide to the North American Family at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Oxford Exchange, 420 W Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

Christian Blauvelt (Star Wars Made Easy: A Beginner's Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away) will give an interactive presentation of his book at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Haslam's Book Store, 2025 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.

Poet Erika Meitner (Copia) will give a reading at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in TECO Hall, School of Business, Saint Leo University, 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo.

Holocaust scholar Victoria Barnett ("After Ten Years": Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Our Times) will discuss her book at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms, Student Community Center, Saint Leo University.

The Happy Hour With the Historian Lecture series presents Lynn Waddell (Fringe Florida) discussing her book at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the St. Petersburg Museum of History, 335 Second Ave. NE. Admission $5, cash bar.
