Events: Former astronaut Scott Kelly to talk about 'Endurance'

The 2017-18 Tampa Jewish Festival of Books & Conversations continues Oct. 29 with the All-Day of Authors at Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center, 522 N Howard Ave., Tampa. Individual event tickets available; all-day events pass $45, including morning nosh, deli lunch and dinner. Tickets and information at jewishtampa.com.

10:30 a.m.: Iris Ruth Pastor (Tales of a Bulimic Babe: Simple Wisdom to Live the Life You Crave). Tickets $5, include coffee and morning nosh.

Noon: Peter Gethers (My Mother's Kitchen: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and the Meaning of Life). Tickets $15, include a deli lunch buffet.

1:30 p.m.: Scott Wachtler (True Crime Experience). Tickets $5.

4:30 p.m.: Bill Sefekar (American Dreamer: A Look Into the Life of My Father, Joe Baby). Tickets $5.

5:30 p.m.: Glenn Frankel (High Noon, The Hollywood Blacklist and the Making of An American Classic). Tickets $20, include a preprogram dinner buffet and a postprogram showing of the film High Noon.

The Oxford Exchange Spotlight Series presents former astronaut and military fighter pilot Capt. Scott Kelly (Endurance: A Year in Space, a Lifetime of Discovery) discussing his memoir at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St., Tampa. Florida poet laureate Peter Meinke and artist Jeanne Meinke (The Elf Poem) will be the speakers at the Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County Four Seasons Author Series luncheon at noon Nov. 3 at University Club of Tampa, One Tampa City Center.
