'The Da Vinci Code' author Dan Brown unveils new book

Dust off your secret decoder ring: Robert Langdon returns May 14. The hero of The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol returns after five years in a new novel by hugely bestselling (200 million books worldwide) author Dan Brown. Publisher Doubleday invited fans to help reveal the title on Brown's website by posting on Faceboook or Twitter, and so many did that for a while it looked as if the book was called "System Error." But, glitches fixed, Inferno was revealed — a title that's a clue to the novel's tie to The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri's 14th century epic poem. — Colette Bancroft, Times Book Editor
