Get tickets to see space shuttle's slow voyage home

Published Nov. 1, 2012

NASA is selling special ticket packages for guests to watch Atlantis make a slow 10-mile journey to its new home at the visitors center Friday at Kennedy Space Center. Because of crowd logistics and security — 70 percent of the route is in the restricted area of the space center — the only viewing opportunities are being offered by the visitor complex. Packages include the Explorer Package, which includes visitor complex admission, Exploration Park ticket and round-trip transportation for $90 adult, $80 child (ages 3-11); and the Rollover Package, with visitor complex admission and the opportunity to see Atlantis on the final leg of its journey, followed by fireworks, for $50 adult, $40 child (ages 3-11), plus tax.
