Bad news: The Civil Wars show, the first must-see concert of 2013, has been canceled.
The Grammy-winning country-folk duo of Joy Williams and John Paul White called off their 2013 tour dates, including a Jan. 22 gig at the Tampa Theatre. No reason was immediately given, but we know their Jan. 10 date at the House of Blues in Orlando was also called off, and a statement from that venue says the group was canceling all 2013 tour dates. Refunds will be available at point of purchase.
The news comes at a curious time for the band, which has never been hotter: Earlier this year, Williams and White — who are married to other people and have five children between them — won two Grammy Awards. Their pop pairing with Taylor Swift on The Hunger Games soundtrack is nominated for musical event of the year at Thursday's CMA Awards. Plus they've contributed music to new acclaimed ABC drama Nashville.
