Things to do in Tampa Bay for Nov. 17

Sanding Ovations Master Sand Sculpting Competition: Master sand sculptors build works of art using 150 tons of sand. Check out the sculptures and enjoy entertainment by Voices of Jazz (2 p.m.), Sarasota Slim (5 p.m.) and the Black Honkeys (7:30 p.m.). Ybor City Heritage and Cigar Festival: Celebrate Ybor City culture with live cigar rolling demonstrations, an appearance from Ian Beckles of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, live music by Gwan Massive and food trucks. It's at 10 a.m. between N 13th Street and Avenida Republica de Cuba at Eighth Avenue in Ybor City. $10, 12 and younger free. (813) 247-1434.

Art on the Water: More than 80 artists set up their work on the water walk next to Jackson's. There will also be music by the Soul Circus Cowboys, and sponsors Blue Moon and Stoli vodka will have free samples. It's at 11 a.m. at Jackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi, 601 S Harbour Island Blvd., Tampa.
