ORLANDO — Riders aboard Universal Orlando's Hogwarts Express will see Hagrid fly by the train on a motorbike, Buckbeak the hippogriff swoop over a lake and the Knight Bus swerve through London traffic.

Those are some of the new details Universal released Friday about the train connecting the new Harry Potter land opening this summer at Universal Studios with the existing Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure.

Universal is creating the Hogwarts Express based on the train ride between the Muggle and wizarding worlds in the Harry Potter books and movies. Universal says riders boarding at King's Cross Station on the London side will "pass through the brick wall at King's Cross Station to arrive at Platform 9 ¾.'' Riders looking through the windows will journey through the British countrywide, seeing Harry Potter characters and Dementors.

Universal's creative team has been working with Warner Bros., Stuart Craig and the production team from the Harry Potter films to create the Hogwarts Express experience.

Park-to-park admission will be required to ride the train between Diagon Alley at Universal Studios to Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure. It is scheduled to open this summer, but no exact date has been set.
