Florida Gators lose OL Chaz Green for the season

Florida OL Chaz Green will miss the entire 2013 season after suffering a torn labrum in practice last week.

Green, a Tampa Catholic alum started 10 games last season, but was hampered much of the time with an ankle injury.

"Really disappointing news with Chaz Green," Florida coach Will Muschamp said. "He's going to have to have surgery this week to repair a labrum. It happened in last Tuesday's practice. Felt like it was OK, got the MRI back Friday afternoon. Chaz was playing his best football, was playing extremely well. Certainly had solidified himself at the right tackle spot. Disappointing news as far as that's concerned."

For the Gators, unlike previous seasons when the O-line lacked depth and experience, this season the Gators are more equipped to replace Green on the line.

"We do have depth on the offensive line," Muschamp said. "Still feeling good at right tackle, Tyler Moore, Trenton Brown (both transfers). Tyler took all the reps during the spring when Chaz was out with the ankle. Chaz played through that throughout the entire last season. Lot of pain and played well for us. Disappointing
for him, but that's part of the game there."
