Florida Gov. Rick Scott wrote a short series of tweets Saturday afternoon expressing his outrage over the actions of caregivers who, in his view, failed to prevent the deaths of eight nursing home residents in Hollywood, Florida this week.
Scott announced new emergency rules for the Agency for Health Care Administration and the Department of Elder Affairs designed “to keep Floridians safe in healthcare facilities during emergencies.”
Scott harshly characterized the actions of officials at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills.
Scott also said officials from the Hollywood rehab center should have called 911. Friday it was reported that those officials tried to call a cell phone number Scott gave healthcare officials.
