Winners and losers of the week in Florida politics

Winner of the week: Chris King and Adam Putnam. The underdog, newcomer Democratic candidate for governor and longtime politician and Republican frontrunner stood out last week at a candidate cattle call before Florida reporters and editors gathered in Tallahassee. With starkly different takes on the state of Florida today, both were substantive, well-informed, and thoroughly comfortable fielding questions

Loser of the Week 1: Jack Latvala: Six anonymous accusers have accused the veteran legislator from Clearwater of groping and assorted gross behavior. It could be the end of his political career, let alone his gubernatorial campaign.

Loser of the week 2: The Florida legislature. Paranoia and anxiety are rampant as a private eye is surveilling legislators, hiding videos, and looking to expose embarrassing information on legislators. He has a target rich environment to work in.  Get ready for a rocky 2018 session.
