WASHINGTON – Four finalists for two federal judgeships in North Florida have been submitted to Sens. Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson.
The Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission, chaired by Rubio-ally Carlos Lopez-Cantera, met Wednesday in Tallahassee and interviewed eight candidates for the Northern District of Florida.
Four names were submitted as finalists:
The northern district has two vacancies because Judges Richard Smoak and Robert Hinkle were made senior judges.
The finalists were named in a letter Lopez-Cantera sent to the senators on Wednesday.
