Jeb Bush on Sunday night lent support to “gun-violence restraining orders” and said 18-year-olds should not be able to purchase semi-automatic weapons.
Legislation for GVROs, often described as "red flag" laws, has picked up support of some Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio over the weekend, citing it as an "example of a state law" that could have helped prevent the Florida shooting. But will legislation move in the GOP-led Legislature? Red flag legislation already filed by Democrats has not gotten movement, though that could change given high profile advocacy from Bush and Rubio and others.
