Gov. Rick Scott's smiling face suddenly disappeared from an NRA web page promoting the gun lobby's May 4 leadership event in Dallas.

Scott had been listed as an invited guest, but the image shown here was no longer on the web site Friday.

A spokesman for the governor, McKinley Lewis, said the governor's office did not request that Scott's photo be removed.

Scott has long enjoyed an A-plus rating from the NRA.

A Dallas city councilman has asked the NRA to move the conference to another city.
